Midnight Sun Cycling
An energetic and magnificent combination of culture, nature, history and sea! You will experience Helsinki, the dynamic capital of Finland, the picturesque Porvoo, the harmony of countryside, shimmering waterways and green forests. During your journey you can take a day off and enjoy a boat cruise in Helsinki or Porvoo, or spend the day wandering around the idyllic old town and river banks in Porvoo. And the following day you can continue exploring the Finnish wonderland by bike again.

1st DAY HELSINKI
- Arrival in Helsinki
- Accommodation and dinner at a hotel
2ND DAY HELSINKI - PORVOO 55 KM
Time to leave Helsinki and start heading east. The journey follows the coastline from the main market place passing seafront marinas and villas. In Östersundom you can visit a small wooden church, which is in the halfway to Porvoo.

3RD DAY PORVOO and ITS SURROUNDINGS 45 KM
Now it is time to enjoy the small, curvy and peaceful country roads. The route goes through beautiful landscapes with cornfields, tiny rivers and farmhouses.
Porvoo is a truly lovely place to visit. See its unique waterfront red ochre sheds, medieval cobblestone streets, the charming boutiques in Old Porvoo, its restaurants, cafés, museums, galleries…

4TH DAY PORVOO – TUUSULA 40 KM
Porvoo is history now – so the journey continues towards Lake Tuusula. The country roads are ideal for an enjoyable ride. On the way you see the lovely medieval stone church of Sipoo and before reaching the Lake Tuusula you’ll go through Kerava, which is one of the satellite towns of Helsinki.

5TH DAY TUUSULA – TIKKURILA 35 KM
You’ll start from the south end of the lake and ride all the way around it. The lake is not so big but there’s plenty to see. A unique artistic community was born at the turn of the century along the historically rich, winding shore road on the east side of Lake Tuusula. Among other premier artists of the era the famous composer Jean Sibelius had his home, Ainola, here – don’t miss it!
The winding country road around the lake is altogether 24 km, just before completing the circle the route continues to south to Tikkurila. There will be the last overnight before Helsinki.

6TH DAY TIKKURILA – HELSINKI 25 KM
In the morning before hopping on the bike again you can visit the Finnish Science Center, Heureka. E.g. there you can find one of the most modern digital planetariums in Europe, Heureka’s Vattenfall Planetarium.
The Kerava River flows from Tikkurila directly to Helsinki. You get all the way to the heart of Helsinki enjoying the nature to the very end avoiding all the big roads. The route follows winding along the small river. On the way you see nice residential areas and you’ll be surprised how green Helsinki really is!
